A real quality product
This machine is almost faultless - brilliantly built and amazing quality. It looks a million dollars but then it is hugely pricey, even though I got an incredible discount through ebay. The lack of ports was solved by an inexpensive Lenovo hub, which powers the external display and lots of my old hardware add-ons. The other three ports are for power, a 1TB SSD for all my photos and data files, with one spare. It even has a headphone socket! I am loving it and hoping that it has future proofed my computing needs for at least five years.

Still very quick
This gen max is very fast, thinner than the last 15’ MacBook Pro and with a better battery life. The butterfly keyboard is ok to use but the keys get shiny quickly and they are close together (unlike the last one). But the speed of opening big programs and processing is impressive. USB-c ports, disliked by many, Not such a big deal

I have a few now
They are damn expensive but if you have a school leaver starting a graphics based course in September then they will be using Adobe and (when I last used it on a PC) it crashes a PC with such alarming regularity you get nothing done. The up side is they always have a good resale value - taking THAT into account they are only a tad dearer than a WinTel PC
